Rent cap
In Luxembourg, the annual rent of a home may not exceed 5% of the capital invested in it.
The capital invested is the purchase or construction price plus works, revalued using official coefficients and then reduced by a discount linked to the property's age. Service charges are not included in this cap.
A tenant who considers the rent too high can refer the matter to the municipality's rent commission. Before setting a rent, a landlord should check this cap.
