Rent commission
The rent commission is the local body that settles, free of charge, disagreements between landlords and tenants over the amount of rent and charges.
Every municipality is covered, either by its own commission or by a regional one. Either the landlord or the tenant can refer a case to it, without a lawyer.
Its decision can be challenged before the justice of the peace. It is often a useful first step towards an agreement without going to court.
