Energy passport
The energy passport, or energy performance certificate (CPE), is the official document that rates a home on its energy consumption and thermal insulation.
It is issued by an approved expert and gives two classes, from A to I: one for energy performance, one for the insulation of the building envelope. It must be shown from the moment a property is advertised for sale or rent, and handed to the buyer or tenant.
It remains valid for ten years, unless works change the building's performance. It often includes improvement recommendations, useful for estimating future works.
