Completion guarantee
The completion guarantee assures the buyer of an off-plan home that the construction will be finished, even if the developer runs into difficulty.
It is usually issued by a bank or an insurer and stated in the off-plan sale deed. If the developer defaults, the guarantor funds the completion of the works.
It is an essential protection: before signing an off-plan purchase, check that it exists and who provides it.
