Cadastre

The cadastre is the public register describing every plot of land: its location, area and number.

In Luxembourg, it is kept by the Land Registry and Topography Administration. The cadastral map pinpoints a plot or a building, and every sale deed refers to it.

The cadastre describes properties but does not by itself establish ownership: that is the notarial deed, transcribed in the land register.
