Flatshare
A flatshare is the letting of a single home to several tenants, who share the common rooms and each have their own bedroom.
The law on residential leases now regulates it specifically: the contract sets out the common and private parts, each person's share of rent and charges, and what happens when a flatmate leaves.
For the landlord, a well-drafted flatshare lease limits the risk of unpaid rent; for the flatmates, it clarifies each person's rights and obligations.
